Styling: Coney Island Cool

Hello Fashionistas!
Sorry I have been lacking in the posting department lately, I was off traveling the world (well NYC and London) and I have been suffering from a bit a bloggers block! Anyways, I wanted to dedicate a post to one of my newest hobbies: styling.

It all began when my fabulous friend Dené (a gorgeous model who takes the most stunning pictures) asked me to help her with a photo shoot. The first shoot I styled was done by Liquid Shutter Photography. The shoot was inspired by one of my favorite music videos Cool by Gwen Stefani in combination with a fabulous Kate Spade-esque Coney Island Engagement photo shoot that is beyond adorable! (Check it out at Ruffled). Anyways, check out Dené and her shooting partner Alex (click to enlarge)

The first look shown above is flirty and effortless. A yellow bikini top toped with a cap sleeve H&M shoulder wrap all paired with a flowy white skirt, simple black peep toe Louboutins* and a wrap leather belt from the Limited to add contrast and edge. I dressed Alex in a long sleeve yellow shirt with white cotton pants to play off of Dené's 'the fabulous girl next door' look.

I love this second look, Dené looks like some kind of Summer Cremesicle Dream Girl! She's wearing a orange Forever21 summer dress (perfect for this shoot because the style gives a vintage feel but the length and color keeps it current and fresh) paired with brown lace up Vince Camuto wedge booties that to me scream "I'm that fashionable, functional, fabulous girl you wish was one of the boys". Since Dené's flirty dress in such a bold color was commanding all that attention, I off set the brightness by dressing Alex in a simple blue striped tee and cotton white pants, giving him a clean, crisp sort of vibe.
Although it is somewhat hidden in the picture, this next look (left) was a jean romper from Forever with a fabulously big red bow belt from H&M while Alex wore a simple white cotton button down and jeans. The final look was Alex in a simple white tee and cuffed Jeans for that retro feel, who fed the glam Dené some cotton candy. Meanwhile Dené strutted in peep toe Louboutins* flowy satin Forever21 shorts, synched with a wide teal woven belt from Nordstrom and a polkadot tie half top. This is the kind of outfit made for an awesomely tall girl (what I refer to as a sassy sass... sass being short for Sasquatch... the good kind of course!) because most people would drown in these shorts, but on Dené they are a glossy, polished touch to a Summer Bombshell sort of ensemble.
Alright Pause... before we end , can we take a second to talk about Dené's legs? They seriously go on for days! Flawless! All I can say is WOW! Must be nice!

Let me know what you think! Also if you are ever interested in shopping in my closet for your latest photo shoot or having me help style a shoot, let me know, I would love the opportunity.
