30th May 2012

today I was a little inspired…
by the one and only audrey hepburn“my look is attainable. women can look like audrey hepburn by flipping out their hair, buying the large sunglasses and the little sleeveless dresses”
– audrey hepburn

Everything old is new again, where black, bows, and big glasses never go out of style.
My newest kate spade celina dress oozes Audrey-ness. Adding the big glasses, bright lips and piles of pearls helped seal the deal.
Although I like color, a two-toned look can also make a stylish statement. The creme and black throughout creates a chic and classic vibe while the massive amounts of pearls and girlie over-the-top accessories keep it flirty.
Dress: Wildcard Striped Celina Dress, Kate Spade. Shoes: Jocelyn Pumps in Blush, Kate Spade (similar). Jewels: Chunky Pearl Statement Necklace: DIY (similar, kjl). Pearl Statement Necklace, J.Crew. Pearl Bracelets: Forever 21 & Vintage (similar). Earrings: Pearl Stud, Hand-me-downs (similar)

Style Spotlight: Jillian Dress

26th May 2012

One again, our favorite new girl Zooey Deschanel is stepping into the spotlight.

Zooey is wearing a kate spade classic with a twist: the bow striped jillian dress (now on sale)!
The Jillian is one of my favorites (I have it in two colors, I may have a problem…) four three reasons: 1) the adorable bow keeps it girlie yet fun, 2) it has the perfect pockets! I am such a sucker for a dress with pockets, especially secret ones like these that don’t gape, 3) the silhouette is perfect for any occasion, you can dress it up or dress it down!
I often wear my jillians with my denim jacket and tennies or over a button up shirt with a statement necklace. Any way you wear it, this dress is a completely versatile transformational treasure!
If the stripes aren’t your thing, consider investing in a basic jillian like a black silk one. I choose to opt for the fun linen zebra jillian and the bold tomato red/orange one. Whichever one you choose, can became as versatile as the striped one with multiple ways to wear it!
Are you a Kate Spade-esuqe bride to be? Or looking to be a lady in white? If so check out the wedding bells collection white Jillian.

Style Spotlight: Soren Dress

25th May 2012

It’s time for another style spotlight on some of our fashion fashionistas: glee’s rachel berry and zooey deschanel as fox’s new girl, jess!

You guessed it, their fabulous dress is kate spade of course! Get the look here. Not only is this fabulous sweater dress now on sale, it is also an extremely versatile wardrobe workhorse.
Although this winter-esque dress is constructed of silk, cashmere and egyptian cotton, it can still transition to spring and summer with bright pops of color.
The soren dress also dresses up or dresses down with ease. Through on some tennies, statement bangles and a denim jacket for a day of running errands or pair it with bright colors and bold accessories for a stop and stare look.
Any way you wear it, you will look fantastic in this sassy little striped number.

Hats Off

25th May 2012

let us reminisce…
In the past two years, I have had two graduations where Kate Spade dresses were important parts of these big days. So for this post, we are traveling back to next spring, when I wore my first ever kate spade dress to my Kentucky Derby graduation party.
Last year I graduated with my BS in Business Marketing and Tourism and a certificate in International Business from Arizona State University
That following Saturday, my Kate Spade fleur dress made its debut
Dress: Fleur, Kate Spade (no longer available), Gloves: DIY white bow gloves, shoes: Christian Louboutin, Bangle: the grass is always greener, Kate Spade (nla), Earrings: Coach, Necklace: Vintage from my grandmother.
Of course, hats were required.
Even the fashionista in training, little miss Estelle (of tuesday’s kids) dressed to impress.
The day was filled with good food, great friends and celebratory croquette
Despite my bias (which is fueled by my kate spade obsession) I highly recommend investing in a kate spade dress. They are truly special pieces that will enhance your wardrobe.
keep the party going

22nd May 2012

Hi dolls, I want to introduce a new reoccurring segment on my blog: style spotlight!
For this segment, I will be featuring the style of some of my favorite characters and celebrities including  satc’s Carrie Bradshaw, glee’s Emma Pillsbury and Zooey Deschanel – both on and off the set of fox’s new girl. These segments can be found on the right hand side of my blog!
First to step into the style spotlight is miss Zooey, as Jess on new girl.

this modcloth dress is a more casual take on the ksny adette dress, adding a belt completes the look! Not into navy? try this dress is khahi and magenta, but get it while you can, modcloth pieces go fast!
Colorblocking is a big trend for 2012, so here are a few more ways to get this look for less.

Underneath It All

21st May 2012

This Ones For the Girls
It’s the start of another week, and you know what that means: Marketing Monday (yay)
Today we’re featuring an adorable retroesque Vanity Fair ad and taking it all off to look at the perfect undergarments for any outfit!
Before we strip down, lets check out the commercial that inspired it all…

Dear Boys … Please Hit Pause
For all my manly readers out there, I truly appreciate your support but from this point on, this post is strictly for women only. I love you all but must ask you to please hit pause, and allow us to maintain some of the mystery. Please tune in tomorrow and everyday after that for posts for all genders.
Underneath It All

A summer approaches, we start to bare all with strapless dresses, plunging necklines and skin tight stunners! But your outfit cannot be complete without the right undergarmets
Strapless dresses are a summer fav! So every gal that looses the straps as the seasons change need to invest in two appropriate undergarments: 1) The Structured Strapless that provides support in a fitted dress and 2) A more comfortable bandeau bra for flowy dresses or casual maxi’s, just make sure you get one with a underwire support!
Plunging necklines are always on trend and can look great on almost any body type, if you start with the right undergarment! These deep v bras keep you supported while showing off your skin.
For all of those bombshells out there, a body con or bandage dress is a closet necessity. But if you own one without the proper undergarments, thats where it should stay until you invest in some. A seamless bra keeps everything smooth and supported up top while the wonderful creation of spanx help you achieve perfection below the bra.

1 Dress, 5 Ways

14th May 2012

I’m Back!
Since graduation is just two finals and one presentation away (thank the lord) I am back to blogging on a almost daily basis, yay! To make up for my absence, I’m dedicating this post to making 5, yes five looks out of just 1 dress! here we go!
This first look is tailored to your adventurous side!
Bring out your inner explorer with a comfy-casual look with a flirty-fun vibe.

Looking to spend the day exploring a section of the city? Yearning to go treasure hunting after brunch? Or maybe you’re just craving a spontaneous mini road trip. Whatever your adventure, this look will help you plan a fabulously fashionable exploration.
Bold, bright chunky accessories and a big novelty tote add a functional touch of whimsy to an explorers ensemble.
Layering a denim jacket and big brown belt over the red striped tube dress makes the look casual, yet versatile, perfect for those rapid weather-changing city days.

Pairing red socks with oxford wedges serve as the final touch for this fashionably adventurous outfit.
Dress: Zara ’11 (similar). Jean Jacket: Denim, H&M. Shoes: Oxford Booties, Vince Camuto. Bag: Eat Cake, Kate Spade (on sale!). Belt: Consignment. Socks: Forever 21. Jewels: Scrabble Ring, Turquoise Ring (similar: herehere or here), Vintage Gold Link Bracelet (similar), Kate Spade Idiom Bangles, Red Vintage Earrings.

Looking for something different? These these dresses will help you bring out your inner explorer or work for any of the other looks to be featured this week!

Next Up: Life of the party!
This celebratory look two of our 1 dress 5 ways!
Look two is for the bold party goer, who’s not afraid to stand out!
Some nights you’re a hopeless hostess, other nights you’re the bell of the ball. But no matter what the occasion, you style is always something worth celebrating! You’re bright, bold and you love to make an entrance. Somebody, cue the confetti, because the life of the party has finally arrived!
Colorblocking in big for spring, but you don’t have to invest in new pieces to get the look, just belt a solid dress, pair a bright solid top with a plain neutral skirt or layer a tank under a tube dress like me!
You can keep the colorblocking simple, but as the life of the party I stood out by completely committing to primary colors with the blue tights and green shoes. You can easily tone this look down and take it day by removing the tights, replacing the green pumps with a neutral wedge or platform sandal and swapping the blue bow belt for a brown or tan belt that compliments the shoes.
Dress: Zara ’11 (similar).Yellow Tank. Pumps: Green Karolina, Kate Spade. Belt: Target. Bag: Green, Vintage (similar). Tights: Blue, Target. Glasses: Fred Flare. Jewels: Kate Spade All Wrapped Up Bow Ring, Forever 21 Heart Ring, Vintage Gold Link Bracelet (similar), Kate Spade Idiom Bangles, Vintage Gold Chain Necklace, Black Kate Spade Gum Drops.
Look 3 of 5: It’s time for you to shine at any perfect date night or night out on the town!
This look is for that enchanting evening out!
What’s on the agenda for tonight? Maybe Dinner and a Movie with Mr. Right? Karaoke with the girls? Planning on dazzling on the dance floor? No matter where you end up, you will be the shinning star of any evening!
I paired a flesh toned sequin top under our go to dress for a nude illusion with bits of sparkle to help make the dress, dressy!
As always, I piled on the glitz and added pops of black with a bow belt, tights and necklace! And check out the heel on my pumps, glitter! I love my lace tights, they walk the line between classy and fun, everyone should invest in a pair.
Dress: Zara ’11 (similar). Top: Sequin, J.Crew (no longer available, similar here or here) Pumps: Black Gross-grain Karolina, Kate Spade. Belt: All Wrapped Up, Kate Spade (nla, similar). Bag: Harrison Elena, Kate Spade. Tights: Black Lace, Steve Madden (similar). Headband (similar). Jewels: Kenneth Jay Lane Bracelet, Kate Spade All Wrapped Up Bow Ring, Vintage Pearl Bracelets, Kate Spade Idiom Bangle, Black Kenneth Jay Lane Necklace, Black Kate Spade Gum Drops.
Welcome back for another one dress, five ways look!
This ones for that driven gal who works hard for her money
Now I channel corporate courtney, for an interview worthy look
It’s not all fun and games for this girl on the go, although she knows who to celebrate when the time is right, she also works hard, so she can play hard.
This looks is all about layering: by pairing our red dress over a polka dot blouse to make this tube summer dress office appropriate! I kept the layering going with a chunky pearl necklace and girlie pearly jewels!
Corporate Courtney also has to carry the weight of the world in her tech-friendly hand bag (which is actually a baby bag).
Dress: Zara ’11 (similar). Top: Polka Dot Bow Blouse, H&M. Pumps: Green Karolina, Kate Spade. Bag: Patent Baby Bag, Liz Lange. Tights: Basic Black. Jewels: Kate Spade All Wrapped Up Bow Ring, Vintage Pearl Bracelets, DIY Pearl Necklace, Black Kate Spade Gum Drops.
I hope this trip to the office wasn’t too much of a bore. Call in sick tomorrow, but not before you check out the 4th and final look!

This one is for those busy bee, “do-it-yourself” gals (me included) who just can’t seem to sit still!
You’re A Master Multitasker. Your day starts early with meeting a old friend of a cup of joe and is go go go from there on out, filled with errands galore: walk the dog, pickup a gift for mom just because, mid-day meeting. From uptown to downtown, this girl on the go shouts “you-whoo taxi” all day long, but still manages to squeeze in the things that matter: like a 3pm mani/pedi with the girls.
To alter the silhouette of this dress, I layered a comfy sweater over it and tied it in a knot. I made it “girlie” with pearly accessories, a big red flower and contrasting patterned flats! And of course, every girl on the go needs a scout satchel to travel with!
Dress: Zara ’11 (similar). Top: Seafoam Sweater, Urban Outfitters. Shoes: Polka Dot Flats, Vintage (similar). Bag: Gold Scout, Kate Spade. Glasses: Top Shop (similar herehere or here). Jewels: Kenneth Jay Lane Bracelet, Kate Spade All Wrapped Up Bow Ring, Vintage Pearl Bracelets, Kate Spade Idiom Bangle, Red Vintage Earrings, Scrabble Ring.

Well thats a wrap! We did it! 1 Look 5 Ways! Before I let you go, lets take a look back at our five looks!

Trendy Kate

9th May 2012

today lets take a look at what’s trending at kate spade new york!
Today, I am breaking down some trends and showing you the easiest way to get the look all while featuring new arrivals at ksny (yay)! plus we will take a look inside my closet at my newest ks wardrobe additions.

first lets look at three spring and summer trends that are here to stay! They will even carry over to fall 2012.
Hot Colors:
as I mentioned in my previous post (lets get tomato soup delivered) tomato red is a hot right now, africa violet is also a unique and fun color for summer. Wear these colors together, or choose one for a head to toe monochromatic look or to use as the perfect color pop!
Get the Look at KSNY: eyelet Selita dress (eyelets are another spring trend) $578, Arielle tee $178, Linen Viola Dress $358
Leopard print is always on trend, but the way you wear it changes. This years its all about pairing it with bright colors (like tomato red), wearing structured leopard pieces (like peplum tops) or giving it a flirty-girlie vibe (by piling on the pearls, or wearing a girlie dress). geometric and floral prints are also in, the blouse shown above kills both of these trends with one top.
Get the Look at KSNY: leopard Randie peplum top $268, abstract arielle tee $198
Color Blocked:
Colorblocking, thick and thin is a huge trend this year! Pick up the perfect blocked piece or do it yourself by pairing a solid top with another solid colored skirt. You can block with neutrals, colors or even neon!
Get the Look at KSNY: Striped kerrigan dress $498, color block tank $178, tricolor zahara dress $498
More great new products at Kate Spade include pretty pillows:
and of course, handbags
These bags are brilliantly basic. The bright colors and classic shapes can make the perfect basic bag for any fabulous fashionista. featured collections: A La Vita, Primrose Hill and Gold Coast
WWCD: What Would Courtney Do.
With all these amazing options, how could you expect a girl to just pick one? You can’t… and I didn’t! heres a peak at my new product purchase and the trends they apply to!
I don’t own any zebra (ghasp) so I made up for lost purchases with a perfect peplum randie top (animal & peplum, two trends in one) & a linen jillian bow dress. I also picked up this classy color blocked Celine dress as a fun trendy take on neutrals. Perfect cigarette pants are hard to find (especially with my body type) so when I found these perfect lipstick mandy pants in tomato red (also african violet and black) I had to pick them up!
What Would You Do?
I showed you mine, time to show me (or tell me) yours! Do you like my picks? if not, what products would you pick up? Or what trends are you dying to try?
Let me know, Cheers!

Calling Zooey

7th May 2012

hey dolls! thanks for the time off. my blogging will still be minimal this week, but I wanted to post for marketing monday, yay!
today were looking at one of my favorite fashionista’s Zooey Deschanel and her new Iphone 4S commercial. I am also providing you with so much zooey approved shopping options! But before we start shopping, take a peak at the commercial!

Tomato red (or red orange) is a hot color this spring (and fall too, yay)! Wear it head to toe for a monochromatic look (see how I wore it here) or wear it in small doses for the perfect pop of color.
Zooey may have been avoiding “real” shoes, but you don’t have to! Here are some great zooey-girlie shoe finds for the fashionista on a budget!
Pajama party? I love that Zooey is wearing simple and chic pajamas in this ad, especially since I have been recently obsessed with cute pjs (post soon to come). You too can sleep in style by cuddling up in these cute pieces.
Can’t get enough zooey? You’re in luck! I’m kind of obsessed with her…. she I feature her often! so be sure to check out my other zooey posts!
