When it comes it stripes, the brighter the better. I’m kinda crazy about bright colors and am known for having a serious stripe obsession, so when the opportunity presented itself to combine these two loves in one piece I jumped at the opportunity and bought out the whole collection – I’m not kidding. So today I am sharing three seriously sweet ways to wear these pieces candy stripes!
Shake with a side of Stripes
I like my milkshakes vanilla (don’t judge me, I love vanilla) and with a side of the brightest stripes. I used this bright sweater to brighten up a gloomy day and the milkshake to rot my teeth. I neutralized the pairing of the candy colored sweater and matching stripe beanie with basic denim and a grey coat.
The best pajamas are the blindingly bright pjs with patterns to help you rise early. After I picked up this striped sweater, I found the matching sweaterleggings and became instantly obsessed. The only thing I love more than pattern is more pattern so I eagerly doubled up on stripes for Christmas Morning. Aside from looking like a who at the crack of dawn, I have also given these leggings a whirl for cozy evenings spent blogging paired with a sleep tee or a late night ice cream run with a neutral sweater and coat.

Taking a Walk on the Bright Side McDougal is my favorite street for a reason, because of the seriously bright, bold colors that match this collection. If you’re a little less bold but still want to take a walk on the bright side, you could dabble in candy stripes with this darling scarf. I paired it with an equally bright cotton-candy inspired coat (last seen here), it doesn’t match exactly but plays off the hues enough to create the illusion of cohesion – sometimes you don’t have to have an exact match to make a look work!
What do you think of this crazy candy-colored collection? Am I completely insane for diving head first into it? Spoiler alert – yes. But I do what to hear from you – what is your favorite piece of the collection (mine’s this bear because I’m a child).
Black Tulle, and Red bows, I think I’ve died and gone to Color-Me-HeavenMy favorite part of the holiday season is getting all dolled up! I like being over dressed year around, but there’s something special about about stepping into red and tulle for the most wonderful time of the year, and today I’m doing just that. I wore this gorgeous tulle number to Christmas Eve dinner in the city. Since it was black & white, I added a festive touch with a red lip, red shoes and green statement ring.
New Years Eve is the perfect time to wear sequins or feathers or both! Today I am showing to super sparkly NYE outfits perfect for a spectacular night.
Sequins are a go-to for NYE, but why not switch things up with a feathered skirt. Lets be honest, everyone and your mother (yay go mom) is going to be wearing some kind of sparkle, so stand out by wearing a white feathers, plus they look amazing when you bust out your super awesome dance moves #shakeit.
If a white feather skirt isn’t in the cards for you, try a sequin skirt for NYE! This look is perfect if you blew all your cash on Christmas (sorry bank account) because all you need is a sequin skirt and the rest of the look is closet basics! Tuck a black tank (or turtleneck) into your sparkle skirt and add a statement necklace before stepping into a sassy pair of heels, and Tada – you’re NYE ready!
By now you should know that I have a serious color addiction, and currently I have been wearing a lot of baby blue. Today is not exception as I take on this darling baby blue coat that is actually insanely affordable.Winter can be kind of a drag, and a coat can be a serious commitment. Most invest in one or two expensive coats a season meaning they have to commit to that color all winter long – boo. This year, I took a different approach, investing in multiple, less expensive coats in crazy colors and wearing them with layers throughout the colder months to keep it colorful all season long!
Shop these crazy cute candy colored coats!
I picked up this baby blue coat last weekend and Old Navy and have been wearing it non stop ever since. I’ve paired it with a little red dress, maroon accents, fair isle sweater, a mustard yellow sweater, for fun contrast and layered it over this chunky cardigan (pictured).
The coat is a little on the thinner size (hence the under $100 price tag) but the chunky cardigan keeps me nice and cozy all while layering piece for a downtown look. If you’re going to layer like I did, try a deep V or low cut top for your lowest layer, to show a little skin and create great contrast against the added fabric.
Sweater || Leggings || Mug Happy Holidays! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and is enjoying time with family and friends. My family came to NYC for the holiday so today I wanted to share a little Christmas recap and some of the best sales you’ll want to shop this weekend! My Family got in Tuesday, and I spent christmas eve taking over Amazon Fashion’s Instagram for a festive look at my day & Exchanging gifts with Miss Daisy

Now that Christmas is over (sad face) there are some serious sales to take advantage of, here are some of the spots I will be shopping today and all weekend long:
Guys it’s practically christmas!!!! So that means I’m living in festive sweaters and eating nothing but gingerbread (okay, mostly frosting), care to join me?I love my a snuggly sweater, especially in a fun print! This year I invested in my first fair-isle sweater and now I can’t stop wearing it! With skirts and OTK boots, with black jeans & a little leopard (pictured), layered with a collar shirt or button up chambray or tied around the waist for a cool-girl approach to this preppy-esque pattern – anyway you wear it you’re sure to wow this winter! This sweater is totally the fair-est of them all (ha, sorry bad joke) so much so I ended up picking it up in not one but two colors, and I’ve been also seriously eyeing this sweater dress. The best part about a fair-isle sweater is it is festive enough for Christmas wear, but with a winter theme making it wearable for at least two more months!Join the party — Shop some of my fair-isle favs:
I love playing hostess, especially during the holidays!Last weekend I hosted a super fun holiday party – I crammed some of my favorite bloggers in to my teeny tiny NYC apartment for Color Me Cookies. Now that I’ve finally come down from my sugar high, I wanted to share some of the festivities! It’s no secret I have a thing for sweets, and frosting and SPRINKLES, so it was only natural that I threw a christmas party centered around desserts. Because I love DIYs and anything that would make my dentist cringe, I decided to combine the two for a cookie-centric holiday party!
Because my apartment doesn’t have an oven (and even if it did, I probably wouldn’t use it, #takeoutqueen) I opted to buy cookies & frosting for the event, so setting things up was super easy, essentially I just turned my living room into a cookie decorating station, my jewelry trays into sprinkle holders and we were ready to go!As for attire, I asked the girls to come wearing ugly sweaters or something festive. Everyone showed up wear sparkly cardigans, sequined sweaters and polka dot pants while I hung out in this super cute ugly sweater! But I didn’t mind, I loved being the ugly lone wolf for the night! Check out some of the gram photos from the night below:
If I ruled the world, all skirts would be tiered with tulle and all breakfast items would be covered in sprinkles – oh and life would be awesome. If I could (and who says I can’t) I would wear a tulle skirt everyday of the week, and this week on the blog I practically did (on monday post and tuesday post) so it’s only natural that we make this it a triple tulle threat and end the week with a bang! Like Red, I would wear tulle skirts year around (because I have serious issues) but some people are less likely to have a princess moment on a rando wednesday in Spring. But when the tree goes up & the carolers come out it totally changes people, and we’re all eager to get a little *spiffy* for holiday parties on the horizon or whatever festive activities you’re getting into. So if you’re too on the tinsel train (choo-choo) a tulle skirt might be just what you need to bring some serious joy to your world & wardrobe this season.Have you ever had instant outfit inspo? The fashion brain works in mysterious ways my friends. I was shopping at piperlime and fell in love with this sparkly little shirt. I added to cart and had an immediate outfit epiphany, I swear I had a total that’s-so-raven moment and everything (okay, I shouldn’t have said swear cause that was kind of a lie, but you get the gist). Anywayyysss, after I came to I knew I needed a black tulle skirt, leopard clutch and sparkly shoes to complete my epic fashion vision for this look. Sparkly shoes were a no brainer, I only have 13 trillion pairs on display in my living room (jk about the trillion, but not about the display sitch, #Ihaveissues). My leopard clutch is back ordered because my life sucks (Sad face) so I borrowed from this mega babe and was happy to have an “excuse” to splurge on this amazing tulle skirt that I have been eying since the dawn of time… Sorry bank account.Gold check, Tulle check, Leopard Check, Sequins Check – now all that was left is to twirl (or just shake it). The only thing that could have made this look more holiday ready is a statement earring – Hey Santa I’ve been eyeing these BaubleBar pretties, and I’ve been really good all year ;).I love this look for Christmas parties, dinner with the fam or a festive date night (don’t forget the mistletoe) but I think I would wear it for new years eve! Everyone will be in super sparkly body con dresses – borrringgg – so bringing the drama in a big tulle number will really help you stand out & make a statement! I’m totally considering wearing something tulleriffic (sorry, that was awful) for New Year’s … or something soft, striped and silky as I watch Pretty Little Liars and The One Direction movie from my bed like a real party animal – you know you’re jealous.Shirt via Piperlime || Skirt via Bloomindgales (also here & here)

Red lips, Red skirt, Red shoes…If you asked me my favorite color, I would probably say Courtney Green (like Kelly Green, only better) and lately I have been wearing quite a bit of blush, but there is one color that dominates my world and wardrobe – Red.The red lip became a signature of mine a few years ago and I wear it almost everyday, but there are other serious pops of red in my wardrobe including a red coat, red sweaters (like this super soft one), three red midi skirts, two pairs of red shoes and so much more. So when I was looking to take these pretty new red shoes out for a spin, I decided to just go monochromatic with a red hot head to toe look!Dressing in head to toe red (or white, or black) is one sure fire way to bring the drama to any look. Truthfully, you should only make one serious statement per look but since rules are totally meant to be broken, I’m making three in one look – statement shoes, a show stopping midi skirt and the monochromatic-ness.If this was april, june or event november I probably wouldn’t have dressed in head to toe red, but since it’s December and the holidays are in full swing I thought an all red look was not only appropriate, but necessary! You could create something similar with red pieces in your wardrobe for a holiday party or night out, and if red isn’t your think bring the same element of drama with all black & a leopard clutch or all black and a sparkly necklace!Red Sweater c/o New York & Co || Red Midi Skirt || Red Bow Shoes (similar) Red Lipstick || Sunglasses || Chain Bracelet c/o Bauble Bar Roman Numeral Bangle c/o Accessory Concierge Leopard Clutch thanks to Daisy
