A little snow ain’t never hurt no body, especially when it is so dang pretty! So if you watch the news or live in NYC you know that this week New York was supposed to get hit with a lot of snow this week in what they were calling The Blizzard of 2015. In the end, the snow ended up being more “movie snow” quality and less bone chillingly cold but none the less, it was still pretty dang epic.Although I kind of love the snow, growing up in Arizona, I have never had much of it. So when the snow hits I still don’t really know how to react. While some opt for bean boots or puffer coats, I went with a midi skirt & fur … practical right?I am not the biggest fan of pants so when the temperature drops, I double up on tights so I can keep warm without turning to jeans. So if my legs resemble the size of sausages (mmm sausages) it’s not because I’ve been stuffing my face with donuts (yes it is) but because I’m only able to bare the burr with two pairs of tights – totally worth itRed Midi Skirt || Black Cropped Sweater || Fur Scarf Leopard Clutch || Leopard Booties || Sunnies
What do you do to keep warm without compromising your style? I’m always looking for new tips and tricks!

Let’s make a pact to wear nothing but blanket scarves until Spring, Kay?I’ve been all about the blanket scarf since the moment we hit Fall – I mean what’s not to love about getting away with wearing a blanket in real life? I’m actually surprised that I manage to get through a few days without wearing one! Anyways, I recently expanded my Blanket Scarf collection to include this darling blue and white one, a lighter twist on the trend and perfect as we tackle the long transition into Spring …
It’s coming, I promise! The white and blue contrast of this scarf gave me a crisp Americana vibe, and inspired me to go monochromatic for this look! I talk more about my blanket scarf battle armor to fight off the cold on Aerie’s blog, stop on by and say Hi!Until then, shop the blanket scarf trend here:
Guess What? next week is the super bowl! I know, it totally snuck up on us this year… but don’t worry I have your own personal super bowl style guide so you can look crazy chic while you root root root for your home team (wait a second… was that a baseball reference? #oops).I honestly only watch for the commercials and for the chance to gorge myself on all of the carbs, but I know some people take the this big bowl super seriously so I try and do my best to oblige. Unless a team I am connected to is playing, I usually just pick the team to root for based on colors and or mascots – sounds good, right? –and usually slap something festive together of the morning of the big game. But if you’re going to spend the day watching football and stuffing your face, you’ll want to do it in style so here are three spirited ways to steal the show come super bowl sunday.

With mascot and color considerations (and the fact that my Boyfriend is the biggest 49ers fan and absoltluey despises the Seahawks, I think I’m going to have to go with the Patriots on this one… besides, Tom Brady isn’t too shabby to look at, I mean cheer for 😉 Who are you rooting for this year?
“It’s a classic”, “It’s the only bag you’ll every need”, “You’ll wear it with everything” … Sound familiar? People always talk about “must-have” items or “investment” pieces that every gal needs in her wardrobe. Dominating the top of this list has to be a quilted Chanel, so today I’m teaming up with this awesome consignment brand with a purpose Union & Fifth to share some serious Chanel style – here’s 10 ways to wear an amazing quilted Chanel bag to prove to you that this grab bag really does work with everything.Shop the look here & at Union & Fifth
Pack your bags we’re going to Paris! In case you haven’t noticed, I really want to go to Paris and I want to go NOW! But when you can’t pack up and go to this beautiful city, why not just dress like you can … because like Paris, Stripes and Tulle is always a good idea 😉I’m beyond obsessed with this Alice and Olivia skirt (last seen here), there’s something so classic yet over-the-top about black tulle and you can wear it with almost everything. This tiered tulle skirt is the perfect way to bring the drama to a basic sweater that you might normally wear with jeans and really amp things up. I feel like every-girl should own something that make’s her feel as pretty as this gorgeous skirt can, to wear with a little striped sweater in Paris, or somewhere else when you’re just day dreaming.I totally broke the short girl code with this outfit – all fun sized girls should avoid ankle booties – whoops. Most fashion experts will say if you’re height challenged like me, you should avoid a black ankle boot & bare leg combo because it chops you up. This is totally true, especially if you aren’t super skinny and eat donuts on the daily, but I kind of don’t care… I usually get around this by wearing ankle booties black tights, leggings or jeans to continue the line without creating a harsh chop, but decided to go against that advise again today! Bottom line is the boots kind of chop me up, but I like the harsh contrast with the full tulle skirt to give this over-the-top look a hint of edge. I know, I know fashion rules are made for a reason… and I think that reason is to know them, learn then, live by them… and break them!I probably won’t be returning to Parié any time soon, but until then Waffles and I will continue to eat our weight in macaroons, play dress up here in New York, and count the days until Paris Fashion Week, care to join us?
Take me to Parié, pretty pretty please! Not sure why, but I have been on a super crazy Paris kick lately. It probably doesn’t help that I’ve been stuck on this wonderful Island of Manhattan for almost a year (seriously, I love this place but I need a vacation) or the fact that I am surrounded by French things (my French Bulldog, Waffles; My Boyfriend, Paris; and my serious baguette and macaroon obsession), but whatever the reason I have been totally Parié Obsessed. So of course I took my obsession to my wardrobe for todays look! I haven’t been much of a Forever 21 gal lately, mostly because shopping in their store gives me serious anxiety – fun fact, when I was in highschool I would do half of the store, hide my favorite pieces somewhere secret, go get a pretzel and then come back and do the rest… you know, break things up a bit hehe – and because shopping online is always a gamble.
Anyways, I have recently returned to 16-year-old Courtney’s favorite store and have been pleasantly surprised with someone of their quality and selection improvements, starting with the cutest sweater-shirt ever! I knew this sweater tee would be perfect for this in-between state, where we all what Spring like yesterday, but it totally still feels a lot like Winter – don’t worry, you’re not alone… I feel ya! Anyways, I paired it with a red midi skirt, black booties & knitted beanie for a Paris-Meets-Brooklyn-Vibe, not completely sure where that exact combo inspo came from (since I never really make it to brooklyn) maybe I’ve just been stalking Rach Martino too much on instagram, whoops!Sweater|| Skirt (similar) || Sunnies || Hat (similar)
If you too are dreaming of a vacay (or even a staycay) where would you go? To Parié with me or somewhere else? Tell me so we can dream big together
It’s no secret that I’m a shorty (Yay, fun sized) and I am not ashamed of it at all but sometimes I want to look a little taller, a little thinner and just like Karlie Kloss! Okay, so maybe that third one is a bit of a streeettchhh but the first two are totally obtainable, and I’ll prove it!
Today I’m sharing three ways to look instantly taller and thinner (aside from just wearing heels, cause that’s kind of cheating) + my go-to fashion tip that everyone should follow!
Drop and Give Me Twenty … pounds, not pushups!I love me some sprinkles, and am not so keen on hitting the gym (I don’t think I am supposed to admit to that, but I totally just did, whoops) so aside from the little cardio I get walking to work, chasing Waffles down the block and having a midnight dance party to One Direction (don’t judge me), I don’t usually find myself “feeling the burn” and am therefore not a 100 pounds like I was in High School. But… who cares! I own my current weight (donut thighs in the house) but can also give myself a slimmer twist by creating the illusion of a thinner look, here’s how – I pair a high waisted jean in a dark color with a front tucked shirt and heels! Tucking a shirt into the front, creates the illusion of leg length and a tiny waist to make you look instantly slimmer, plus the heels help give you that extra boost while hiding your caboose ;)! Look One // Look Two
Growth Spurt! Is it just me, or did you get taller?
Don’t let your eyes fool you, I am totally still five foot nada but can kind of trick you into thinking I grew a bit with over the knee boots and thigh-high socks! Pairing tall boots with even taller socks and a mini skirt create a crazy go-go-gadget length extension giving me a few extra inches, even in flat boots! If you want to go full on Super Model Status, switch flats for OTK wedge boots to really pump up your look, and your height! Look One // Look Two
My biggest style tip? Its a Cinch! You know how women used to spend hours stuffing their bodies into teeny tiny little corsets and destroying their organs only to potentially pass out in their 30 pound gown? Well, you could totally do that and you would look instantly slimmer…. or you could do this – Cinch Your Waist! Cinching your waist changes everything, and is my go-to tip for instantly enhancing your body! Until recently, I only wore high waisted skirts or dresses (never pants) and would cinch it up on the daily! Now, I have over-come my pant-phobia but still rely on cinching my waist at my smallest point with a belt (big or small) or a high-waisted skirt to really nip my waist and create shape! I believe in this tip so much that I had to share it with Avenue 32 when they asked for my go-to style trick! Read it and more awesome fashion advice from bloggers and fashion pros in their awesome new Ebook! What’s you style trick? I would love to hear from you!
There’s been a whole lot of pattern play going on here lately, and I am refusing to apologize for it #sorrynotsorryI used to pride myself on being the queen of pattern mixing: stripes with spots, leopard with dots or plaid with prints was my #ootd norm! But lately, I have switched up my usual mix-matching for a little bit of double play, sometimes mixing the same print can be even more exciting and interesting than a simple pattern jumble.Today, I double up on my leopard prints (rwar) to add a little something unexpected to an otherwise classic look. The different spots in my boots and clutch provide enough contrast between the two pieces, all while keeping the look complimentary – awesome! While blue and red pieces rule the rest of the look and a printed plaid scarf pulls it all together. What are you thoughts on my pattern play? are you on team print mixing or pattern pairing? Oh and check out how I paired plaids in yesterdays postSweater || Scarf || Booties (or similar here) || Jeans Coat c/o (similar here) || Clutch (also love this one) || Sunnies
What’s better than a little plaid? A lot of it – that’s what.Today’s look takes mad about plaid to the next level, but doubling up on this print for a look that’s school-girl chic. After wrangling my lob into a topknot I secured it with a pretty plaid bow, big enough to make Blair Waldorf proud. Although a plaid bow may be enough for some, I took the pattern to another level with this printed, plaid skort! I kept the rest of the look black in an effort to neutralize the pattern play and really make it pop!One of my favorite parts of this look is the ampersand necklace, it kind of serves as the glue that links these two plaid pieces together and I am just flat out obsessed. I found it at Carrie Grace’s shop, a little shop with a really great idea – the necklace club! If you join the necklace club, you receive a new necklace every month for a year (Awesome, right?). Pssst if you are interesting in joining, use the code “2015” for $30 off your subscription, making it $16 a month!
