All American Girl

IMG_8945Hip Hip Hooray, Three Cheers for the USA Happy Almost Birthday America!IMG_8937

Today I’m sharing a fun way to spend 4th of July in the City – at Coney Island and an equally fun 4th of July look that can be worn all summer long, so I repeat, Hip Hip Hoorray!IMG_8981

Okay, I think Coney Island gets a bad wrap – some people thing its gross, touristy and completely over rated, and yes, It’s totally ALL of those unappetizing thing but also so much more. First of all ITS SO DANG COLORFUL I CAN’T EVEN (I can’t believe I just typed that…please note there was so much sarcasm in that, not sure I could ever say “I can’t even” without it lolZ), second of all HOT DOGS, third of all: All of the Rides and forth of all HOT DOGS.IMG_9680 IMG_8960

I love Coney Island, especially on 4th of July. You can spend a day eating everything, going on rides, smelling the salty air, getting salty hair, walking the boardwalk, putting your toes in the sand, going for a swim in the ocean? (it’s not an ocean, I’m actually not sure what it is but it is a Beach-type-thing so I dig it) and oh yeah, eating everything. No lie, I mostly go to stuff my face BUT if you go on 4th of July you can watch the hotdog eating contest (gross, but so awesome) and do all of the above.IMG_8984 IMG_8926

Your perfect Coney Island 4th of July trip should start with selfies on the subway, duh. First stop HOT DOGS (are you grossed out by me yet) and then a little boardwalk strutting – I tend to use it as a runway or a dance floor, because why not #everyonesjudging. Then on to ride the rides, and wondering why you didn’t do rides first, hotdogs second, but whatever no regrets! IMG_9583 IMG_9622 IMG_9706

Next up, maybe some fun games on the boardwalk! I tried to win a really cute stuffed unicorn for Paris and failed, but hey it’s the thought that counts right!? Then maybe time for more food, a second dog maybe, mango on a stick or even some cotton candy, OK lets be real – all of the aboveAnd finally a little walk on the beach … or dance party — same thing.IMG_8960IMG_9658IMG_9527

So what to wear for your Coney Island adventure? A swim suit under a red & white striped cropped top and white overalls, red keds, a shirt or sweater around your waist incase it gets cold, a boater hat and of course a red lippy – because what’s more american than that? NOTHING! Absolutely nothing.IMG_8940
