Park Avenue Skate

19th August 2014

So last weekend, I went roller skating … down Park Avenue! The fact that I was able to do so without breaking a bone or (more impressively) without hurting my pride was pretty astonishing, and to top things off, Paris was able to capture the whole thing on camera… well this is going to be entertaining…

Sorry I have been a bit MIA lately, things have been a bit crazy … but in a good way! I have so many exciting things in the work and I can’t wait to share with you, so be sure to stay tuned and follow along on instagram (where a lot of the magic will be happening). Anyways, I promise I will be back to cluing you in to my every move from here on out :]
This past weekend was jam packed, on Sunday we went boating in central park and on Saturday we went to summer street – where they close down Park Avenue from down town all the way up to 77nd street. People choose to bike, run and jog through the city – and since I don’t do either (Shopping is my Only Cardio and I don’t know how to ride a bike … whoops) I opted to roller skate – how retro of me, right?
So what does one wear to a day of roller skating through the city? A full red midi skirt of course. I’ve been fully obsessed with Midi Skirts lately (this yellow one is was my summer fav, and I wore a different red one throughout last winter). I tied a basic white tee at the waist for a fun twist on the skirt – it was an easy way to update an otherwise dressy skirt to wear for the weekend.
I’m really impressed Paris managed to capture this craziness, did I mention he was wearing skates!

Ruby Woo Lipstick || Armed and Readi Rings || Madewell Rings

Hope your weekend was killer! I would love to hear what you got into, leave a comment below!

The Classics

28th October 2013

Sometimes you have to go back to basics, as I did here with black, white and a little bit of leopard.

blouse: asos (get the bow here) // skirt: modcloth // bag: kate spade (similar) // trench: h&m (similar) // sunnies: karen walker // boots: kate spade // bracelet: jcrew // tights: capezio // belt: express (similar) //

Just black and white is a little bit boring, so red lips and red nails serve as the perfect pop of color! Gold accents like the logo on my karen walkers, gold rings and gold buttons on my blouse and boots also give the look an extra point of contrast. Anyone can replicate this look with closet staples: a black skirt, white blouse, black boots, black tights and a trench coat. You can even create your own black bow with ribbon or your boyfriends tie!

spotted in spots

8th January 2013

spots on spots on spots: today i pair leopard print with my go to polka dot!

forget what they say, i believe leopard is a neutral so it must be true! don’t be afraid to mix it with unexpected colors && patterns, you’ll end up looking like the cats meow.
hold the phone! && check out my new (old) favorite earrings. i picked them out at the cutest hole in the wall vintage store, they belonged to a little lady based out of south carolina with a big personality and even bigger sense of style! she worked for a telephone company && i ended up picking up about half of her jewelry collection which included watermelon earrings && a giant giraffe brooch.
if you’re ever on the hunt for hidden treasures at a vintage store, ask about your purchases! they shop owners sometimes know tidbits about the previous owner && you’ll love them so much more
a little red can go a long way, but i decided to wear a lot of it to make a big statement. oh && don’t let a chill in the air discourage you from wearing your favorite peep toes, just pair them with a matching colored tight (black on black is your safest option) && make them work for winter!
dress: french connection // coat: asks (similar) // belt: kate spade (this year’s version) // necklace: kate spade // shoes: kate spade (similar) // sunnies: miu miu // bag: kate spade // rings: wire wrap // betsey johnson // kate spade // arm party: vintage bobbles // sequin // kate spade idioms // vintage // michael kors // vintage // jcrew

Little Miss Mouse

9th August 2012

Hey minnie, may I steal your style?!

Today’s outfit was formed by equal parts fantasy & flattery with a smidge of envy & a dash of bitterness. A few weeks ago my fabulous friend Katrina (her blog is fab too) hosted an equally fabulous soirée for her incredibly fabulous minnie mouse-obsessed little lady: Estelle! Since I love minnie just as much as little miss Estelle (let’s face it Stella, I probably love her more…) I was beyond bummed when I missed out on this perfect party! I would have loved to celebrate Stell’s 3rd & had an on themed outfit planned out for the occasion!
To make it up to myself, I dared to dress up as a miss minnie while visiting the Walt Disney Family Museum!
By the way, check out my new leather jacket! A birthday present from the boyfriend…  Sleek lines, gold zippers & a girlie vibe… I’m smitten! Thank you, thank you, Paris! I’m beyond obsessed with it!
Sleevless peplums are all the rage, but some of us aren’t too keen on showing off the shoulders (& arms). If you fall into this category, fear not! A short sleeve top layered under your peplum, is a quick bicept baring fix to put the pep back in your peplum!
This post also marks the blogger debut of my new kate spade broom street denim! As you may have noticed, I am not much of a denim-wearer (they never fit right & are always too casual), but I have fallen in la-la-LOVE with my ksny black denim! They fit like a dream & have details to die for like pink stitching & a gold spade accent!
Top: Kate Spade (worn under) (sale!) // Peplum: Asos // Denim: Kate Spade // Shoes: Tory Burch // Handbag: Kate Spade (similar style) // Jacket: Classiques Entier (Nordies) // Belt: Kate Spade (w. dress purchase) // Earrings: Kate Spade // Necklace: Kenneth Jay Lane (Vintage-esque) // Arm Party: Kate Spade // J.crew // Kate Spade // Nordies // Kate Spade (old) // Kate Spade (Sale!) // Kate Spade Ring // Domino Ring
