I have awful eyesight, practice my time tables at the gym and wore headgear as a teenager. I’m beyond excited to attend San Diego comic con next year, completed my MBA at 21 and would rather stay in and read then go out and party. Needless to say, I’m a nerd … and proud!
Dress (worn as a skirt): Kate Spade (Similar) // Glasses: Urban Outfitters // Sweater: J.Crew (Love this one) // Bag: Cooperative (purchased via Modcloth) // Pink Bracelet: Tomorrow’s Unknown // Booties: Shoegasm (Love these, and these) // Socks: Kate Spade (Similar) // Necklace: Marc Jacobs ( Similar here // with a twist) // Lipstick: Mac
I’m a firm believer in brights for fall, so I paired my neons with socks and booties to help me step into the season. I also love a full skirts, but my lack of them in my closet forced me to get creative with this look. The skirt you see here is actually a dress (seen as a dress here) – I pulled the bodice inside the skirt, zipping it as much as possible to lay flat (technique last seen here). If you aren’t into tucking your dress in, simple just tie a sweater over your dress like I did here.
one of my last az looks was a bow inspired cream && black number…
today’s post is a special treat: i’m teaming up with the fabulous bree of uptown tulips for a crazy amazing collaboration! together we’re delivering three seasonal style spotlight post style stalking some of our favorite fashionistas to create hot holiday looks, starting with Queen B!
i love this blair outfit, it just screams timeless glamour: her elegant accessories are classic princess pieces while the bold color choice keep the look young && fresh.
For my take, I attempted to channel blair’s regal whimsy while keeping it courtney.
nothing screams holiday like pink sparkles, except maybe a big giant bow! and luckily, this look has both! i used a bit of layering to bring the sparkle to this bow-tastic dress.
As a guest blogger for Courtney today (eek!), I’ll start by introducing myself! I am Bree and am the founder and blogger behing Uptown Tulips. After obsessing over Courtney’s Style Spotlight feature, I was inspired to work with her on a few look inspired by our favorite icons. The first one, representing possibly my style icon and the envy of New York, Blair Waldorf, ladies and gents. As the “it girl” of the Upper East Side, Blair knows a thing or two about Christmas balls and fancy parties. I found this little number in a vintage store a few years ago. The cut defies everything that is traditional, straying from Blair’s classic side. Besides from the festive shade of green, this dress also A little glitter goes a long way. A lot of glitter goes way farther! The peacoat is a recent purchase and as soon as I got it, I knew it would end up in this post! After all, outerwear is Blair’s favorite accessory.
14 days until Christmas! Happy Holidays!
. . .
well that’s all for today’s holiday collab! make sure to tune in next week for another tuesday holiday team up featuring zooey deschanel && make sure to follow the fabulous bree at uptown tulips to stay keep up with her fantastic style. until next time…
Zooey is wearing a kate spade classic with a twist: the bow striped jillian dress (now on sale)!
The Jillian is one of my favorites (I have it in two colors, I may have a problem…) four three reasons: 1) the adorable bow keeps it girlie yet fun, 2) it has the perfect pockets! I am such a sucker for a dress with pockets, especially secret ones like these that don’t gape, 3) the silhouette is perfect for any occasion, you can dress it up or dress it down!
I often wear my jillians with my denim jacket and tennies or over a button up shirt with a statement necklace. Any way you wear it, this dress is a completely versatile transformational treasure!
If the stripes aren’t your thing, consider investing in a basic jillian like a black silk one. I choose to opt for the fun linen zebra jillian and the bold tomato red/orange one. Whichever one you choose, can became as versatile as the striped one with multiple ways to wear it!
