Marketing Monday: Game On

6th August 2012

Please excuse me, for today’s marketing monday I’m going to toot my own horn a little bit, toot toot, as I hype some of my favorite rings now available for sale on etsy!

It is no secret that I love my scrabble & domino rings (I only wear them everyday…) but now you too can get the look by purchasing these custom cuties at my etsy store.

Get these rings as a gift for a friend or splurge on a gift to yourself (after all, isn’t that the best kind?) But before you buy, get inspired by seeing how I wear them…

Marketing Monday: Catwoman Couture

23rd July 2012

Don’t judge me, but I’ve totally joined the bat-wagon…
After seeing the newest batman movie, the dark knight rises, I am totally obsessed with all things cat woman. Therefore had to dedicated this marketing monday to this pretty kitty & purrrfect outfits.
I like Anne Hathaway as a person and an actress, she is cool & confident with a style all her own, but I was skeptical when I heard she was to play this fabulous feline. Although I was not completely blown away by her portrayal, I was rather impressed and pleasantly surprised.

While the acting is always an important component, I am no critic, so I like to focus on the fashion, which left me inspired. After (and during) the movie, I became obsessed with embodying the edge & elegance of this ferocious feline into fashionable looks, take a peek…
a flirty/girlie catwoman combines bold whimsy with statement pieces.
the edgy catwoman pairs sleek lines with lots of leather and finishes with a red lip.
perception is one of her best weapons, everyone underestimates her. This catwoman keeps everyone on their toes by straddling the line between naughty & nice.
the classic catwoman (inspired by a party scene in the movie) slips on a simple lbd and sky high pumps. She attends with a bare neck, but never misses a chance to accessories and leaves the party draped in a new pair of purrfect pearls.
my favorite catwoman is a walking contradiction and so is her outfit. she is sneaky but stands out, classic yet crazy, edgy yet elegant, fierce yet flirty and everything else in-between.
Speak Up:
what did you think of the movie? what about anne hathaway and her performance? and most importantly… which fierce feline look is your favorite?

Marketing Monday: Fall in Love

2nd July 2012

As promised, todays marketing monday is all about ksny fall 2012!
So prepare to fall head over heals for the new kate spade new york fall 2012 collection

The collection hits stores this month and draws inspiration from the french with a touch of bold elegance and fabulous whimsy.
I love the fun patterns and bold bags!
Although this collection takes kate in another direction, the classic spade-worthy touches like the exposed zipper remain constant throughout the collection.
Just looking at this collection has made my poor wallet start to pout, but I guess being broke is a small price to pay for adding these amazing pieces to my collection… here’s a look at some of my future purchases, that I simply cannot live without

If I could buy it all, I probably would. So if your style is slightly different than mine, here are a few other stand out pieces!

Marketing Monday: Flapper Flair

19th June 2012

Everyone is familiar with the classic novel: the Great Gatsby, but the story is getting a sparkly new makeover when it hits the big screen this christmas!
The Gatsby trailer was released about a month ago and I have been obsessing over all things glittery, glamours and gatsby-esque ever since! Take a peak!
I think “sparkly” is the best way to describe this movie magic. So this marketing monday post, inspired by The Great Gatsby, is all about the roaring twenties featuring two looks filled with flapper flair. First up: fabulous fringe

Fringe dresses are a twenties inspired trend, but they can be updated for a more current look. Try pairing them with something unexpected like a leather jacket or a bold blazer. I payed homage to the classics by piling on the pearls and stepping into mary janes.
In honor of all the glitter and glitz displayed in the trailer, this next look is a more updated version of twenties style featuring lots of sparkle!
If you are going for a head to toe glittered look (shown) make sure to keep it monochromatic or stick with neutrals! Don’t be afraid to play with textures and proportions to keep it interesting, I paired a tiered skirt with nude fishnets!
If only…
Thinking of the movie makes me wish I was the lucky owner of the Great Gatsby book clutch from Kate Spade! I would love to wear it to the premiere… and every other day after that. The Gatsby Book Clutch is sadly sold out (but rumor has it, that it will be back in stock soon… yay) but you can still pick up any of these other styles and more in stores and online at kate spade.com

All Wrapped Up

4th June 2012

Time for another marketing monday, yay!
today, lets look at two of my favorites: my favorite up and coming brit and my favorite ring!
so last week my favorite america’s next top model contestant, british born sophie, took home the win! you know what that means: a spread in italian vogue, a modeling contract, the face of the fragrance dream come true and a cover girl contract and commercial… check it out!

did you happen to notice sophie’s stunning ring? if not, take another look…

look familiar? it’s the kate spade all wrapped up kate spade bow ring! you may remember it from some (okay, all) of my other blog posts. I received this bow ring and the matching earrings for christmas two years ago, and have been wearing it ever since.
Along with my bow ring, I also wear some other glitz jewelry almost every day including my j.crew pave link bracelet, kate spade idiom bangles and kate spade small lady marmalade bracelet. They are neutral so they look great with everything, and it’s sometimes nice to add a little sparkle!

Now back to sophie…
so why do we love her? well she’s british, bubbly and simply british! she exudes confidence and fun with her fun girlie vibe. and if that wasn’t enough… her hair is pink!
oh yeah, did I mention her british bestie? its no other than the flawless emma watson! they go way back… the pair became roomies in 2009 and sophie supported em with the launch of her ethical clothing line, people tree, back in 2010.
take another look at the bff pictures … did you notice the ring again? sophie’s a kate spade-aholic! not only did she wear this ring all throughout her america’s next top model season and in her cover girl commercial, it still remains permanently attached to her hand even when posing with the bestie. you too can get her look with beautiful bow rings:
If you choose to invest in one of these amazing bow rings, I am sure you wont regret it. Mine has become such a staple in my wardrobe, and I couldn’t imagine dressing without it!

Underneath It All

21st May 2012

This Ones For the Girls
It’s the start of another week, and you know what that means: Marketing Monday (yay)
Today we’re featuring an adorable retroesque Vanity Fair ad and taking it all off to look at the perfect undergarments for any outfit!
Before we strip down, lets check out the commercial that inspired it all…

Dear Boys … Please Hit Pause
For all my manly readers out there, I truly appreciate your support but from this point on, this post is strictly for women only. I love you all but must ask you to please hit pause, and allow us to maintain some of the mystery. Please tune in tomorrow and everyday after that for posts for all genders.
Underneath It All

A summer approaches, we start to bare all with strapless dresses, plunging necklines and skin tight stunners! But your outfit cannot be complete without the right undergarmets
Strapless dresses are a summer fav! So every gal that looses the straps as the seasons change need to invest in two appropriate undergarments: 1) The Structured Strapless that provides support in a fitted dress and 2) A more comfortable bandeau bra for flowy dresses or casual maxi’s, just make sure you get one with a underwire support!
Plunging necklines are always on trend and can look great on almost any body type, if you start with the right undergarment! These deep v bras keep you supported while showing off your skin.
For all of those bombshells out there, a body con or bandage dress is a closet necessity. But if you own one without the proper undergarments, thats where it should stay until you invest in some. A seamless bra keeps everything smooth and supported up top while the wonderful creation of spanx help you achieve perfection below the bra.

Calling Zooey

7th May 2012

hey dolls! thanks for the time off. my blogging will still be minimal this week, but I wanted to post for marketing monday, yay!
today were looking at one of my favorite fashionista’s Zooey Deschanel and her new Iphone 4S commercial. I am also providing you with so much zooey approved shopping options! But before we start shopping, take a peak at the commercial!

Tomato red (or red orange) is a hot color this spring (and fall too, yay)! Wear it head to toe for a monochromatic look (see how I wore it here) or wear it in small doses for the perfect pop of color.
Zooey may have been avoiding “real” shoes, but you don’t have to! Here are some great zooey-girlie shoe finds for the fashionista on a budget!
Pajama party? I love that Zooey is wearing simple and chic pajamas in this ad, especially since I have been recently obsessed with cute pjs (post soon to come). You too can sleep in style by cuddling up in these cute pieces.
Can’t get enough zooey? You’re in luck! I’m kind of obsessed with her…. she I feature her often! so be sure to check out my other zooey posts!

vroom, vroom.

24th April 2012

happy monday! for today’s marketing monday, lets look one of my favorite spring campaigns
Prada’s super fun spring 2012 line is inspired by classic cars! take a peak at some of the campaign images

This line has a great vintage vibe, with novelty flair! I love the classic shapes done in fun patterns and colors!
Some of the pieces are a little more novelty, fun and red hot!
Even the eyewear got a vintage-esque make over.
dakota? is that you? you look amazing in those fabulously flaming sling backs. care to share?
fergie ferg? you too? look at you setting the red carpet a blaze in Prada spring 2012.
beep beep! move over boring shoes, this spring is all about show stopping style.
MWAH! I’m personally obsessed with these kissable stilettos… I actually have dreams about wearing them all the time (is it weird that I often don’t remember what happens in my dreams, but I always remember what I’m wearing?)
I’m clearly addicted… but what do you think about this spring campaign? does it get your motor running? let me know ! …
