I wore this look last night, when I stepped out to BucketFeet’s pop up shop in Soho. BucketFeet is a super cool, unique show concept – all the shoes are playfully patterned and designed by different artists, each with their own unique style. Mine are designed by Miami based artist, Bad Panda, who drew inspiration from his home town to create my kicks.
I probably need to stop wearing this top … but I can’t! Are you guys sick of it yet? It’s one of the only crop tops I own and I just can’t get enough of this trend #sorrynotsorry. Plus I never say no to black & white stripes annndd I love that it’s long sleeve so it feels a little more conservative (well as conservative as you can get for a crop top).
Before you go – here’s a few iPhone highlights from before & during last nights at Bucketfeet’s new pop up shop in Soho:
Paris & I had a blast in our new shoes. The pop up only lasts 90 days, so run, don’t walk to 108 wooster street to pick up a pair… or if you miss it, you can always order online :] Plus receive 10% off all bucket feet use the code COLORME10
Spring has brought out a surprisngly casual side of my style and I’ve been wearing sporty sneakers on replay all season long. After visiting the Reebok Skyscape event and bringing home a pair of my own, I have been reluctant to take them off. I’ve even resorted to wearing these and/or my nikes (last seen here) with dresses and skirts to give this sporty trend a girly twist (like I did at Waffle’s birthday party here). I need to step into some stilettos soon or I’m afraid I never will again … okay, who are we kidding, I’ll probably be wearing sky high heels tomorrow.
Have you tried trading in your stilettos for sneakers this season?
The 90’s are back, and better than ever! Crop tops, sweaters around the waist and the Backstreet Boys are all the rage (okay, maybe I made that last one up cause I want it that way). Today I’m doubling up on the 90’s trend
I’m a 90’s baby, so I am loving that it’s making a comeback! Right after halloween last year, I had the genius idea to dress up as Dionne from Clueless and am determined to make it happen this October (P.S. have you seen this music video, I’m not usually into rap but I’m obsessed). But when the 90’s trend started popping up this spring, I thought why wait! I can channel Dionne everyday!
I also stopped by the Reebok Skycape event at Chelsea Triangle to test out (and fall in love with) their awesome new shoes. They’re light weight, machine washable, super comfortable and made of foam!!! Yes… foam! Fun fact- They actually make them in the same factory that Victoria Secret makes thier comparable bras! And because their made of foam, you can go sock-less! I’m wearing the Reebok Skycape in pink fusion (shop here) and went home with a pair in coral!
Will you be trying the 90’s trend?
P.S. how beautiful is the freedom tower, I love it!
I’ve been borrowing from the boys more than I would care to admit lately. This act of rebellion is a bit out of character for me, seeing as I’ve been twirling since age two – well despite my tragic tom-boy phase, read all about my youthful lapse of judgement here. So for today’s inspiration, I paired boyish charm with menswear silhouette and the essence of Queen B (Blaire Waldorf) for a classic look that straddles gender lines.
I don’t know what I did before the Zara skort. I thought this obsession would die when summer ended, but I have just found myself wearing it more and more… and more. It’s the middle of February, yet I still wore my white one over black tights this weekend…. what’s wrong with me? The only reasonable explanation is love, I am head-over-heels for the sassy skort – in black, white or blue. But since I was sick of feeling sporty, (my boyfriend does a cheer & makes fun of me when I wear it) I married my skirt-obsession with tailored pieces and a tuxedo vest to dress it up! What do you think, menswear-chic? Images by Claire Eliza
I love pink & red all year but it’s especially fitting for valentines day! What are you doing to celebrate this weekend? anything fun? I’ve never been very V-Day obsessed – I always preferred a slasher movie to a romantic dinner – but it doesn’t hurt to dress the part! Plus, I sent out fun valentines this year to all my friends back home, tune in tomorrow when I share it on the blog!
Girls Weekend! These pictures were taken on a special day, because some of my favorite gal pals were in town! The two on either side of me have been my best friends since basically birth (okay, more like age 10 … but still) and since one served on a mission for a year and a half and the other performs on a cruise, this was the first time the three of us were together since May 2011! Crazy! As always, the weekend went by too fast, I miss the ladies more than anything.
Happy Friday All! Last week some of my favorite gal pals were in town (more on that later) so we had to venture over to Shake Shack at Madison Square Park for a quick bite. As you may know, I’m 95% gluten free but had to make an exception for one of my touristy treats!
Big thx to Sarah for snapping these, I love being part of your journey as you discover in photography.
A rep lip has become my go-to accessory, and part of my signature look. So when I found this sweatshirt ages ago at Khols of all places, I knew it had to be mine! Since, it’s become one of my favorite casual day sweaters, that I pull on when I need a bit of a fashion facelift. Every gal needs a piece like that, something that’s comfortable and easy for lazy days but still makes you feel good when you pull it on! What’s yours?
Cheers to the freakin’ weekend!
I hope yours is nothing short of fabulous!
Exciting things have been happening in Courtney land,
and I’ve been working like a crazy lady. But starting next week I’ll
actually have days off again (yay!!!). I’m looking forward to stopping to
smell the roses and filling my sundays with brunch,
museum hopping, some serious thrifting and adding to my record
collection. And I can’t wait to share what’s been happening in my world as
What to wear with a striped sweater? more stripes of course! Pattern mixing has crept its way into main stream style, and pairing petals with polka dots is starting to become the norm. But normal is boring, so I decided to step out with stripes on stripes for pattern pairing with a twist!
I snagged this sweater for next to nothing at the Tommy Hilfiger sample sale while I was working there in Production last year! It’s such a fun twist on a classic that I knew I would be able to wear it for years! Plus, you can’t help but smile in an all-american brand!
Since I chopped off all my hair & went strawberry blonde (read all about it) I haven’t been able to rock my usual topknot, until now! I have started using a curly pony and a few pins to simulate a faux-knot. Some of my strands are too short to stay up so I just let them hang free. It’s still a work in progress, I feel a little like Mugatu (Will Farrell in Zoolander), but it’s growing on me. Maybe once I’ve mastered it, I’ll post a tutorial for all the short-haired readers.
