today we’re saying yes stripes and chambray, plus i discuss my everyday accessory: fashion forward frames.
glasses used to be only for geeks, but now with so many cute frames out there… they’ve basically become a fashion accessory.
frames can get expensive, so i buy readers and have my eye doctor pop out the magnification lenses and put in my prescription.
my favorite frames are the kate spade rebecca readers in tortoise… their the perfect size and shape and look good on pretty much anyone, plus their only $68!
shirt: banana republic // skirt: sandee royalty (last seen here) // handbag: kate spade (similar styles) // shoes: vince camuto (love these) // necklace: statement pearls // frames: kate spade // arm party: kate spade // j.crew // nyc charm bracelet // rings: tiffany’s // wire wrap

:: new shoes && new stuff ::
i pick up a few pairs of new sole mates, polka dot nails, shop stylist product perks && my fabulous && fashionable kate spade great gatsby clutch, that i have only wanted for like mu entire life.
:: something old, something new ::
i tried a few new things: blogging with waffles, going out to mill (polka dot outfit) && dining at the duce (check it out the post). i got a new macbook, saw pride && prejudice (finally) && babysat waffle’s cousin lilly! i also stuck to some of my old favorites, mini donuts && macaroons!
:: sir waffles leopold nelson fowler ::
smile waffles! what can i say? i’m an obnoxious mom, all i do is snap && post pics of my hansom little man. my poor instagram followers, are probably so tired of all these pics… but honestly, how could you ever grow sick of this face?
i often post outfit pics, fashion finds, waffles updates && other interesting images via instragram (courtney_fowler) so make sure you are following! i’ll also tweet style tips and tricks, so follow via twitter to stay fashionably connected, hooray!
until next time, stay fabulous!
p is for poised, polished && pretty in prep.
I’ve been watching a lot of old gossip girl reruns lately, and loving the preppy blair a la season one and two, sighhh. so although today’s look is not very blair-esque, I was thinking of the preppy princess when I found myself inspired to put some prep in my step for today’s outfit.
when cleaning out my closet I discovered this lacoste polo I’ve had forever. although these polo’s are no longer as popular as they once were, they are still perfect for a prep-tastic look, so I thought I would put it to good use. I updated it by tucking it into a skirt && playing with fun colors.
i am now back in arizona (i just recently moved back to my home town to save up before my eventual move to new york city) && once i get back into the swing of things, i plan taking tennis up again! && with the crazy hot weather now i have been forced to move away from my love of layering for the time being. This post, the tennis && the gossip girl reruns have inspired me, && I think you will be seeing plenty more preppy posts in the near future.
Today’s look is all about pairing crazy amounts of color with plenty of pattern!
Using these citrus-y hues, I was able to create a summery striped outfit that makes a bright yet unexpected statement look!
It seems I’ve come down with another case of the stripes! Hence the stripe on stripe pairing in this look! I am definitely not afraid to mix patterns, and really no one should be!
Does this skirt look familiar? It’s the katie skirt, From Sandee Royalty… in green! As featured in the Work It the Katie Skirt post (red) and in the Walking on Sunshine post (yellow)

Let’s catch up! Today, I wanted to take some time to update you on what has been happening in courtney land over the past few weeks!
green skirts, pink flats, painted ladies and arm candy! I traveled to az and back again, where I had bought a blue beret cap, a Valentino dress for $50 and had a puppy play date with the most adorable frenchie, lilly!
Pajamas&pearls, streets of sf and smile. My SF bestie miss emily turned 22 (woo!) and we celebrated in style! Oh, and some big things happened on twitter, making me one happy blogger!
Shopping, shopping and churros? I did a lot of shopping, including makeup A la Nars! I decided I’m making the big move to NYC in January and oh yeah I graduated! But the most important part of the past few weeks, well besides eating a churro, was finding out that my good friend francis is the proud owner of a 24 foot scarf!!! When I inquired as to why? he informed me… “It’s longer than princess Diana’s train!” … Oh Francis !!!
Can’t get enough?!
I often post outfit pics and other interesting images to instragram (courtney_fowler) so make sure you are following! I’ll also tweet style tips and tricks, so follow via twitter to stay fashionably connected, yay!
Until next time, stay fabulous!

For our third and final splash from the past post, we are turning poolside looks into party worthy outfits!
The girl on the go doesn’t slow down during the summer. Instead her days are packed with non stop summer festivities! Her afternoon may start with a day at the beach or lounging by the pool, but it usually ends with a spectacular summer party. So she has to be able to update her look instantly.
Add a denim skirt and jacket to a colorful two piece for a flirty yet casual vibe! The pops of color throughout the accessories make the look fun and party-worthy!
Keep the retro look going all day long by adding a high-waisted polka dot skirt and fun accessories to a striped two piece!
Turn a patterned one piece into a cute halter top by tucking it into a striped skirt (I’m obsessed with the Katie Skirt… I own it in three colors! It’s an amazing investment)! I used a summery color pallet by pairing my yellow with pops of shocking pink!
Trade in your basic cover-up for a button up blouse! Tying it at the waist over high-waisted shorts or a flirty skirt can bring an unexpected edge to a previously conservative look!
Nothing brightens up a day like yellow and white stripes!
So today, I dressed down my sunshine skirt for a beautifully bold look, check it out…
dare to be chic daily, even on your most casual days, with bright patterns and unexpected accessories
Adding a flower pin on a jean jacket takes it from denim and dull to fun and flirty.
Understated is Overrated, so pile on bangles for a chunky casual look
Pair a patterned long sleeve under a basic white button up to make a look interesting while staying warm
Have fun with fashion with a bold statement bag!
When in doubt, make a statement with a a fun necklace. Layer it over your collar for some added oomph.
Although this skirt can easily be dressed up, a few wardrobe basics like ridding boots and a denim jacket can help dress it down.
the layering and bangles also help in keeping in casual
