Last weekend was a big fat tease! It was 75 and sunny in the city, so I twirled my way through Soho in shorts, did some serious shopping and double dipped on brunch with some equally serious babes… And then came the cold. It snowed, yes snowed on tuesday night. New York, why must you be so fickle?! And what’s a girl to do wear this weirdo weather? My spring instincts say skirts but the forecast says Buurrr! I’m forever stuck in the winter/spring limbo, I’m living in-between!
, but no coat shopping allowed, Spring is
Handbag: Green Vintage Clutch
My cure for the Inbetween? Patterns & a Pop of color. Wearing black can be boring so I pumped it up with a little pattern play. I am loving these tuxedo pants – they feel like leggings! so they are super easy to wear but off set the stripey top! I added not one, but two color pops by pairing my go-to zara pumps with a little Kelly, I mean Courtney green. It’s also kind of Ironic that I was gabbing on and on about Spring finally being here in Monday’s post, where I am wearing B&W stripes and the same Zara pumps in a very spring way, ha! Let’s hope this cold front passes so we can finally say hello to Spring!
If you don’t know the story of Courtney Green you should, It’s a goodie! Kelly Green is my favorite color and since I am positive that no Kelly loves Green as much as I do, I decided to rename it (Can I do that? – Not sure, but I did!). Our love affair started six years ago! I remember my boyfriend telling me it was a phase and it wouldn’t last… eat those words Paris! :]
I’m playing stripe queen for a day! I said yes to graphic B&W and mixed color blocking with jail-bird stripes for a neutral mix with a twist! I’ve been feeling a little out of it lately, just overwhelmed and not myself. It’s not so fun, but outfits can be the perfect pick-me-up … and a little pattern play always does the trick!

It’s MARCH… so it’s supposed to be Spring! But most days it’s still too cold
to wear skirts without tights … and after months of doubling up to keep warm I’m SO OVER stepping into them. For this look, I opted for knee high socks instead! They kept me warmish
without forcing me to pull on another pair of tights – where are you Spring!?
Monday’s can always be a little bit sour when you have to return to the 9 to 5 (well, mine’s more of a 9-7) grind. But it’s even harder to get up and get going when you’re coming off a wonderful weekend with warmer weather – wow, that was a lot of dubs!

My weekend was full of running errands in my neighborhood, meeting friends for dinner and relaxing with Waffles, all while smiling at the sun and watching the snow finally start to melt…. I see you spring!

Love is in the air! And although I’ve been spending this week with my first love, fashion (sorry Paris), I haven’t forgotten about friday!
I love pink & red all year but it’s especially fitting for valentines day! What are you doing to celebrate this weekend? anything fun? I’ve never been very V-Day obsessed – I always preferred a slasher movie to a romantic dinner –
but it doesn’t hurt to dress the part! Plus, I sent out fun valentines this year to all my friends back home, tune in tomorrow when I share it on the blog!
Well, I’m not in Arizona anymore! New york has turned into Snow York with all the Polar Vortex nonsense…. and I’m actually loving it!
Girls Weekend! These pictures were taken on a special day, because some of my favorite gal pals were in town! The two on either side of me have been my best friends since basically birth (okay, more like age 10 … but still) and since one served on a mission for a year and a half and the other performs on a cruise, this was the first time the three of us were together since May 2011! Crazy! As always, the weekend went by too fast, I miss the ladies more than anything.
Until Next Time, Bundle Up Butter Cups!
Happy Friday All! Last week some of my favorite gal pals were in town (more on that later) so we had to venture over to Shake Shack at Madison Square Park for a quick bite. As you may know, I’m 95% gluten free but had to make an exception for one of my touristy treats!
Big thx to Sarah for snapping these, I love being part of your journey as you discover in photography.
A rep lip has become my go-to accessory, and part of my signature look. So when I found this sweatshirt ages ago at Khols of all places, I knew it had to be mine! Since, it’s become one of my favorite casual day sweaters, that I pull on when I need a bit of a fashion facelift. Every gal needs a piece like that, something that’s comfortable and easy for lazy days but still makes you feel good when you pull it on! What’s yours?
Cheers to the freakin’ weekend!
I hope yours is nothing short of fabulous!
Exciting things have been happening in Courtney land,
and I’ve been working like a crazy lady. But starting next week I’ll
actually have days off again (yay!!!). I’m looking forward to stopping to
smell the roses and filling my sundays with brunch,
museum hopping, some serious thrifting and adding to my record
collection. And I can’t wait to share what’s been happening in my world as
things begin to slow down. Stay Tuned!
A little leopard can go a long way in pumping out an otherwise bland outfit. So instead of falling into the all-black slump that can happen during these wintery months, I leapt into leopard! A spotted coat and a red lip can add an element of effortless glam to an otherwise all black look.
If a little leopard isn’t enough, add a bright bag for fun contrast. I picked up this bag at a blogger event last fall before Pantone announced the color of the year, but now 2014 is the perfect time to rock a radiant orchid color pop!
