Cherry on top

Although this is the month of pink, I still have red on my mind so I wanted to share this head to toe cherry red look that I wore to NYFW.

NYFW aka New York Fashion Week is that one week a year when all of the New York / US based designers present their new collections for the following season, a few days ago they we’re showing for Fall 2018. I kind of have a love/hate relationship with fashion week because I think it’s changed over the years and become less about the actual designers and more about what instagrammer is front row – no shade to the bloggers / influencers who have worked so hard to get there because I’m obviously in the same boat but I just think that we’ve become so obsessed with social media that we’ve moved away from what it’s really about.

Anyways, more on that later. For today I wanted to share my favorite red dress & what I wore for my final day of #nyfw ! Feb fashion week always falls on Valentine’s Day so I thought I would just do the most with this all red look. Red boots, red fur, red dress, red bag. I mean, you know I love a monochromatic look but this one maybe takes the cake … the red velvet cake that is, mmmmm cake.

I twirled my way to the Leanne marshal show & a few other events in this very cherry red look. Aside from my dress (that I have in two colors) my favorite part of this look is the accessories. I don’t normally wear sunglasses but bought these last year when I fell in love. They’re YSL and a total splurge, I looked forever for a mock off version with no success so I bought the real deal. I guess I was just too early to the party because now you can find look for less styles everywhere – I bought this white pair on ModCloth for $20. I also found the heart bag at the Dear Drew pop up in soho, it’s a brand created by drew Barrymore (who I LOVE) so I had to snag this bag.
