“Spotted: C stealing B’s style and trying to pass it off as her own. Oh C, don’t you know there is only one Queen B and she doesn’t like Downtown girls going through her laundry bin. Hold on to your headband’s Upper East Siders, looks like we might have ourselves a cat fight.”
For today’s third and final Blair Waldorf inspired look of the week, I drew inspiration from B but decided to update her style just a teeny bit. Gossip Girl ended two years ago, so sadly Blair missed so many Waldorf-worthy trends like crop tops and midi skirts! If B was still roaming the Upper East Side (or our television) today, she would most certainly be twirling away in the most dramatic of midi’s. While some rock a midi with sporty slides, exposed mid-drifts or even a graphic tee, I presume Miss Waldorf would wear it with a floral blouse and bow pumps… duhhh B always brings the drama, so a bright red midi is just one small piece of an over-the-top outfit. Although B probably would indulge in the crop top trend, she would make it her own by investing in a subtly sheer floral blouse to tuck into her mind-blowing midi. Since pattern, trends and twirl-worthy red aren’t enough for Queen B, I think Blair would finish the look with another pop of color and a little bit of bow action with powder blue pumps.

“They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery, but that doesn’t mean one should imitate the
Queen. Carful C, queen B doesn’t take well to copy-cats” – XOXO, Gossip Girl
Welcome back to another Blair-Waldorf inspired fashion post, where I am taking twirling tips from none other than the Queen of the Upper East Side herself. My Saturday started with a pre-museum brunch before heading uptown to strut my way through the Metropolitan Museum of Art with my mom, boyfriend and friend/photographer Claire. Although I live in New York, I rarely take time to enjoy some of the typical and almost “touristy” things the big apple has to offer.
I decided to take not only a style, but also a lifestyle tip for Miss Waldorf, by spending the day on the Upper Eastside exploring this beautiful museum (and killer rooftop view where these photos were taken – a must see if you are ever in NYC). Since B helped inspire my day, it was only logical that I stole her style for the day too… but I’m not sure if I would really consider it stealing since it is so close to my own 😉 I dusted off my favorite ted baker skirt and tucked it into a white Peter Pan collar blouse (p.s. if you don’t have one of these, you seriously need one – stat!).
We are used to Blair’s bows and have even seen her rock a tie or two, so I had to give her school-girl-style a chic update with a big Pussy Cat bow around my neck! I already owned an over-sized bow neck tie (are you surprised?) but I wanted a silky/satin one to match the material of my skirt. I took this giant black ribbon from my tiny NYC craft closet (which is sadly just a bedazzled box… boo) and used double stick tape to “hem” the edges before tying it around my neck and slipping it under the collar. If you choose to DIY or buy (for just $15) a bow like this can really amp up a basic white blouse and Blair-ify your wardrobe.
I’m a firm believer in pattern mixing, if you do it right (and in moderation) you can really make it work with any outfit. When in doubt, just add leopard. It’s more of a neutral than a pattern anyway, and pairs perfectly with almost every other print! I even wore it with Zebra once to really switch things up. Blair Waldorf Giveaway

There are so many worlds to live (and dress by) that I have incorporated into my personal style bible over the years, but above all there was one 5 letter acronym that has taken a driving force in my fashion inspo:
WWBWW – What Would Blair Waldorf Wear

Fall 2007 was a year/season that changed my life forever (and no, I’m not being dramatic at all). I started applying for colleges, planning our high school homecoming, obsessing over getting a perfect score on the SAT’s and dreaming of New York… but most importantly, I was introduced to the scandalous lives of manhattan’s elite and my TV bestie and life long style inspiration, Blair Waldorf.Blair is a big fan of Miss Audrey Hepburn and even had an Holly Go-lightley trench coat moment chasing Chuck in the rain (P.S. if B&C aren’t the ultimate power couple, who is?!). Since she is also no stranger to stripes, bows or preppy-knee highs, I combined all three of these blair-approved pieces with my signature red lip to create this classic, BW look with a CMC twist It’s been a while, but this week I’m bringing Blair (and her headbands) back to the blog by featuring three Blair-esque looks to get you inspired by the Queen B! Plus I’ll be teaming up with The Trendy Sparrow to give away three awesome Blair Inspired prints with a new way to win each day.
