Paris Is Always A Good Idea

Pack your bags we’re going to Paris!In case you haven’t noticed, I really want to go to Paris and I want to go NOW! But when you can’t pack up and go to this beautiful city, why not just dress like you can … because like Paris, Stripes and Tulle is always a good idea 😉I’m beyond obsessed with this Alice and Olivia skirt (last seen here), there’s something so classic yet over-the-top about black tulle and you can wear it with almost everything. This tiered tulle skirt is the perfect way to bring the drama to a basic sweater that you might normally wear with jeans and really amp things up. I feel like every-girl should own something that make’s her feel as pretty as this gorgeous skirt can, to wear with a little striped sweater in Paris, or somewhere else when you’re just day dreaming.I totally broke the short girl code with this outfit – all fun sized girls should avoid ankle booties – whoops. Most fashion experts will say if you’re height challenged like me, you should avoid a black ankle boot & bare leg combo because it chops you up. This is totally true, especially if you aren’t super skinny and eat donuts on the daily, but I kind of don’t care… 🙂 I usually get around this by wearing ankle booties black tights, leggings or jeans to continue the line without creating a harsh chop, but decided to go against that advise again today! Bottom line is the boots kind of chop me up, but I like the harsh contrast with the full tulle skirt to give this over-the-top look a hint of edge. I know, I know fashion rules are made for a reason… and I think that reason is to know them, learn then, live by them… and break them!I probably won’t be returning to Parié any time soon, but until then Waffles and I will continue to eat our weight in macaroons, play dress up here in New York, and count the days until Paris Fashion Week, care to join us?
