Pink + Purple

Sometimes when you’re color crushing hard on a combo, you become a repeate offender? #sorrynotsorry!

Today I’m sharing my second blush & lilac combo in an outfit I wore this weekend. The weather was wonderful on Saturday (75 and sunny, weee) so Paris and I walked all the way from our neighborhood in the west village through flat iron, soho and Nolita before heading all the way up town to Central Park – it was so fun & nice to be outside enjoying the weather.

I wore this look the whole time because its so easy & comfortable – blush sneakers for a day of my feed paired with a belt bag for hands free access! Naturally, I paired my blush accessories with the color of the month – lilac! I love that this look is super girly (because of the colors, bow sleeves & pleated skirt) but also kind of cool and easy due to the hands free belt & sneakers. It makes it a look that you could easily dress up with a big bag & pink pumps and still look just as effortless.

Again, I broke up the lavender on lavender with a belt bag. I can’t tell you often I use this trick because it makes your waist look small, keeps you hands free all day and creates a interesting twist on a monochromatic look.

Although the bet bag trick is one of my favorites to utilize, the best hack in this look is the sweater … that’s actually a cardigan. I love to create low V-neck sweaters & make my wardrobe work double time by criss crossing my sweaters into high waisted pleated skirts or jeans. The trick is to wear biker shorts under your skirt and tuck your sweater into those shorts so it doesn’t budge, and it doesn’t hurt to secure everything with a belt. This will give you three layers of stability: the shorts, the skirt & the belt, while giving you that piece of mind that your girls will stay put all day. I shuffle between a D and a C cup but still feel super protected in this faux-sweater style.
