Prego Paper Doll: Katrina

Good Afternoon Dolls!
Yesterday I had the pleasure of styling another one of my fabulous friends: Katrina Gibbs. Katrina, was an especially fun personal paper doll because we have a common love for all things vintage and retro, especially from the 1950’s/60’s era. We also share an unhealthy obsession for all things Kate Spade, wear entirely too much black and white, love feminine looks and admire the style of the always fabulous Blair Waldorf (Katrina especially loves Blair’s style season 1 and 2 of Gossip Girl). Katrina also made for a particularly challenging paper doll because she is about 25 weeks pregnant with her third child.
Je T’Aime.
Katrina’s first look is inspired by a day of traveling in a place she is longing to visit: Paris, France. It is also inspired by her go to colors: red, white and black. Here she is wearing a polka dot tank top tucked into a white french patterned skirt with a red cropped coat. Her accessories consist of London charm bracelet, my favorite skunk ring, red tights, white Jessica Simpson Mary Janes, a polka dot heart shaped bag, red tights and a retro black head piece! Doesn’t she just look like the most fabulous french mother you have ever seen?
Everything Old …
These next few looks kind of tell of story. They derive from our love of vintage clothing and intend to emulate a 1950’s/60’s house wife spending the morning in her apron. Here Katrina is wearing a contrasting polka dot black and white courtesy of goodwill under a yellow vintage wrap skirt also via goodwill with black tights, cat eye glasses, gold and red earrings (that were my Moms in the 80’s? thanks Mom!) Tory Burch black and gold low block heal shoes, a gold broach (also from my Mom, thanks again Momma!) a yellow Kate Spade bangle and gold bow ring. She looks adorable!

… Is New Again
The story continues… So after spending the morning in her flirty yellow apron/skirt, our vintage housewife Katrina removed her wrap skirt to reveal the rest of her polka dot dress for a night on the town. Her added going out accesories include a fabulous big black and white hat and a tiny little black purse. Take a Peak.
Sweetie, I’m Expensive
Another problem I share with Katrina is our undying desire for all things out of our price range. As a result, this look was inspired by looking expensive, even if you clothes may not be as pricey as they appear! Also, neither of us are super fond of summer styles, so we decided to pretend it was winter for this next outfit… Here Katrina is dressed in her own fabulous tulle dress under a tan overcoat with a fur color (thank you Goodwill) champaign colored drop earrings, black and white gloves, a black floral headband, a glam black cuff, black tights, black steve madden platform pumps (are we sensing a color theme here?) and her own fabulous Chanel bag. She looks amazing!
Kate Spade Color Splash
So we had to a Kate Spade inspired look, because incase you haven’t noticed we are obsessed. This final look is also meant to bring a little color into Katrina’s wardrobe because as mentioned earlier, she is all about the black and white. For this ensemble I put Katrina in a red dress with a white and gold belt, black tights with her own glam Kate Spade blue shoes. Her arms are engulfed in bright colored kate spade bangles and rings, she is holding my red and purple Kate Spade bow a gift from Whitney and wearing this sassy purple hat I found in the depth of my Mom’s house.
Katrina was a great paper doll and I loved the challenge of styling a pregnant woman especially one with a style so close to my own! Katrina is a blogger herself, so check and her other birdie bloggers out at Hey Little Birdie.
