Blue, Pink,

Travel Spot

     Today we’re talking travel style!

I love to travel light and I don’t believe in checking bags (I’m terrified it will get lost) so quick trips can be tough from a packing POV. I’m always struggling to decide between two options: do I travel light with a backpack or duffle full of things, Leaving me to struggle through the airport with my bags and look sloppy when I arrive at my meeting, or bring a standard size roller carry-on leading me to over pack with things I don’t need. Neither option is particularly appetizing, so I decided to find something in between.

So Enter this cute round roller bag I recently fell for. It’s a perfect little carry on for a quick two day trip. Mine fit two outfits, a trench coat, scarf, glasses, a pair of shoes, my makeup & toiletry bag, pajamas, laptop, bra/undies, chargers, curling iron, extra set of headphones & heating pad. I could have easily traveled with a tote or backpack too that held some of those things for more room in my bag, but I didn’t need it – everything fit fine so I just carried a normal purse as my second bag.

This little round carry on has one zipper compartment inside where I stored my electronics and toiletries, and two wings on the other side to keep everything compact so when you open the suitcase nothing falls out. It also comes with a mesh bag to store any dirty or wet clothes that I didn’t use this trip. The bag is really light weight and the handle makes it easy to carry – I ran into a broken escalator today and carried it down it with ease. My first flight had full overhead space, so I was able to actually slide the bag under my seat. Keeping in mind I’m only 5 foot, but the bag slid under almost entirely and left me plenty of leg room.

This bag is a bit of a splurge, but I found a few other cute round roller options for you below too. I think they’re all great for staycations or weekend trips when you don’t want to over pack & still need to look chic. I often do an early am flight and then straight to a meeting, and I always feel so sloppy when I roll up with a stuffed back pack, or overdone when I have a giant roller bag. This cute little round one helped me feel clean and chic arriving to my meetings which lifted my confidence after a kind of rough flight.

After I had my cute suitcase, I planned the rest of the my travel style look around it. I don’t really any navy, but I love the idea of wearing navy with blush. I was totally smitten with this blue boden suit so I bought it despite my hesitations to navy. To make it feel more me, I paired it with a blush slip dress that is actually my pajamas for the trip and pulled the look together with a pink belt. This blazer doesn’t have center button, it uses a interior tie as well to create a wrap look, so I thought using a build was a easy way to add color and define my waist. On the flight, I wore comfy platform sneakers and switched to heels before my meeting. The legs are long on me, I need to get them hemmed but for now they worked with heels and the platform sneaker during my flight.

Overall I felt comfortable and confident when I stepped off the flight and in to my meeting. Traveling chic isn’t something I do for appearances, it can really help you feel your best when you have it together during your travels.
