Blue,

turquoneck

So nice, I had to wear it twice!

Welcome back to my first official blog post of 2019, I’ve been off a bit due to some things I’ve been going through but trying to get back into the swing of things. One thing you guys asked for MORE of in 2019 is versatile content, so I’m bringing it to you today with two ways to wear this teal/turquoise turtleneck and matching blue tights!
Let’s talk about this turtleneck! There are so many things I love about it: the color, the soft fabric, the “not-too-tightness” of the turtleneck (and yes, thats a technical fashion term) & the balloon sleeves that create unexpected volume and style but don’t blow you up because of the sleek neck to name a few. I also just think due to the color and cut it looks so much more expensive than it is. I actually started looking for a look for less piece for it because I could have sworn it was over $100, but then went to link it for you I was excited to see  it was such a great deal for $40!
Look One:

These looks are all about layering! Would you ever dare to wear a turtleneck under a tank top? WELL YOU SHOULD. This can give unexpected dimension to a look and create depth without having to introduce pattern play or a whole lot of texture. I really went for it with the whole layering play here by creating the illusion that I’m basically blue (da-ba-de-da-ba-da) with the pairing of the turtleneck and matching teal tights. Not only does this elongate my limbs which I kind of need when I’m shortening my neck with the sweater style and my legs with a culotte, but it also keeps me warm so you k now, win-win.

So yes, layering like this can add dimension but  it’s a great way to get the most out of your summer or spaghetti strap styles in the off season. This doesn’t work just for jumpsuits (seen in look one) – If you bought a cute party dress for your besties’ Christmas party but its now buried in the back of your closet, just toss a turtleneck and tight combo under it and take her to brunch (the dress, not your BFF, but I guess she can come to). I tried mine with a fun striped dress and Burgundy accessories for something unexpected yet bold! I also think you can totally wear open toed shoes with tights or socks, because why the heck not.
look two:

I’ll admit it to you guys, I kind of messed up! So we shot both of these looks in one day. I wore one till 2 and then the other after. But in look two (the dress) we shot and I totally realized I forgot to switch my shoes when I was changing, OOPS! So then we had to switch it again moving my blue pumps to these open toed Burgundy ones. But since I’m not one to run from my mistakes, I thought I would show you both options here because you could really wear the look either way!
